Selecting a university is a major commitment. Yet far too often individuals choose a school based on Tuition alone, rather than taking into account other considerations before making such a major decision. Simple comparisons among different study options may be misleading if all the variables are not evaluated fully.
Paying for your university degree is an investment in your future – over many years throughout your career. We invite you to speak with one of our Admissions Representatives. They will be pleased to discuss your educational goals, describe Schiller’s programs and model, and explain the potential costs to complete your degree program.
General Information
As an example, some students may have credits from other universities or schools that may be eligible for transfer to an undergraduate program at Schiller Madrid. In these cases the university can provide an official transcript evaluation; if some credits can be transferred this will reduce the overall time and costs to complete your degree at Schiller Madrid.
Another benefit of the Schiller academic model is that students may begin their studies in any month; there are 12 entry points per year. This advantage means you have the potential to accelerate the completion of your degree program – potentially saving you time and money. And allowing you to begin working sooner. When you add up all the factors – the potential to complete your degree earlier, ability to begin working sooner [opportunity cost], and the potential to reduce your accommodation costs – you can start to appreciate some of the benefits of the Schiller model.
This information is provided solely as a general guide to help illustrate Schiller’s Schedule of Tuition and Fees. Each individual’s situation may vary depending on their selected degree program or circumstances. Please consult an Admissions Representative or review the Schiller Catalogue in the Download Center so you have accurate information before making any decision to enroll at Schiller International University.
A Bachelor’s degree program at Schiller typically is comprised of 40 ‘Courses’ [a course being one subject] and each course typically earns 3 credits. So a student must complete 40 courses for a total of 120 credit hours to earn a Bachelor’s degree.
Some Master’s degree programs require 12 courses or 36 credit hours in total. While others may require 15 courses or 45 credit hours.
Occasionally, some students may require an additional course or two to enter a particular degree program.
Schiller’s academic model is divided into 4-month semesters, similar to many universities. A key difference though is that you may enroll and start in any month of the year. This becomes the starting point for your semester under the university’s policies. And our academic model allows students to focus on one course [subject] at a time as they progress through their degree program. This focused interaction between our instructors and students is another compelling feature or our teaching model.
For example, a student could enroll in January, complete 12 courses consecutively throughout the calendar year , and accelerate the completion of his or her degree program. Under other circumstances and subject to the university’s academic policies, a student might be eligible to take an additional course or two during a semester to advance faster. Or the student, subject to the university’s Summer Enrollment Period policies, may opt to take some time off during the summer months between May – August.
These are just some potentail examples of the options available to students at Schiller to help them reach their educational goals. Your Admissions Representative will be happy to discuss your circumstances so you can make informed decisions about your academic goals.
Non-US citizens are eligible for an Institutional Grant [IG] which reduces a student’s tuition rate per course, subject to the university’s policies and after completion of all courses in a given semester.
Tuition & Fees – Background Information
When reviewing the Schedule of Tuition and Fees below, please consult with an Admissions Representative to review your overall situation so you can make an informed calculation about the potential total cost of your degree program.
On the Schedule of Tuition and Fees, for international students [because Schiller is an American university, and for internal classification purposes, international students are defined as any non-US student] the net price of each undergraduation or graduate Course would be 1,155 and 1,485 Euro respectively – if the student adheres to the university’s policies regarding the application of the Institutional Grant and completes the courses in their semester.
Your costs to attend Schiller Madrid, therefore, will depend on the number of courses you will require to complete your degree program and the other fees you will pay during your studies in addition to your tuition rate. An Admissions Representative will be pleased to assist you with any questions you have about Schiller’s tuition and fees.
Student Activity Fee [Social or Cultural Activity Fee]: Students at Schiller pay an activity fee per semester. These fees go directly into a student activity fund that is used solely for the benefits of Schiller’s students. The activities aare proposed by the Student Government Council and approved by the Campus Director. Examples of activities include a combination of social or cultural outings that are designed to enrich the experience of students who study at a Schiller Campus in Europe.
