In concentration with a faculty advisor, students may develop a major in interdisciplinary studies to suit their particular needs and interests. Interdisciplinary Studies majors have the advantage of being able to select from all courses at the SIU campuses offering this degree. Courses selected must relate to a major offered by SIU.
NOTE: Many graduate institutions require a standard program of undergraduate study with a declared departmental major. Students who intend to continue their studies beyond the undergraduate level are therefore advised to select a specific major related to their graduate field rather than a major in Interdisciplinary Studies.
